Global Project Logistics Key Account Manager
It's more than a job
With a sales career at Kuehne+Nagel, you'll drive long-term business success by mastering sales strategies, nurturing customer relationships and identifying new opportunities. But you will also bring relief and peace of mind to pet owners around the world. Because when you do your job, your colleagues around the world are able to build reliable veterinary supply chains that ensure pets get the care they need. At Kuehne+Nagel, our work is about more than we imagine.
Kuehne+Nagel is seeking a Global Project Logistics Key Account Manager (GKAM) to manage and grow a portfolio of strategic Project Logistics customers, with primary responsibility for Shell, ExxonMobil, and support of other International Oil Companies (IOCs).
This highly visible commercial role is focused on developing long-term customer partnerships, driving profitable growth, and delivering complex project cargo and energy logistics solutions across global markets. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to key customer stakeholders while coordinating closely with Project Logistics operations, engineering, tender management, pricing, and commercial teams. This role requires a strong understanding of the project cargo industry, particularly within the energy, oil and gas, petrochemical, and industrial sectors.
How you create impact
  • Act as the primary commercial relationship manager for Shell, ExxonMobil, and assigned International Oil Company accounts, ensuring exceptional customer engagement and account growth.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans that drive revenue, profitability, market penetration, and long-term customer retention within the Project Logistics portfolio.
  • Lead the identification, development, and pursuit of major project cargo opportunities, including EPC, upstream, downstream, petrochemical, energy transition, and industrial projects.
  • Coordinate and manage complex tenders, RFQs, and contract negotiations in partnership with Project Logistics engineering, pricing, operations, and commercial teams.
  • Conduct executive business reviews with customer leadership, monitor account performance, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and expanded service offerings.
  • Collaborate with national, regional, and global Project Logistics teams to ensure seamless execution of customer projects and alignment with customer expectations.
  • Utilize market intelligence and industry insights to strengthen Kuehne+Nagel's position within the energy and project cargo sectors while supporting strategic growth initiatives.

What we would like you to bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field, with 7+ years of experience in Project Logistics, Project Cargo, oil and gas logistics, heavy-lift transportation, freight forwarding, or key account management.
  • 7+ years of experience managing strategic accounts within the energy, oil and gas, petrochemical, EPC, industrial manufacturing, infrastructure, or capital projects sectors, including engagement with senior customer stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of project cargo transportation, breakbulk logistics, heavy-lift operations, multimodal transportation, international freight forwarding, contract management, and complex supply chain solutions.
  • 7+ years of experience leading large commercial opportunities, contract negotiations, tender management processes, and business development initiatives within a project logistics or global logistics environment.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence internal and external executive-level decision-makers and manage complex customer relationships across multiple regions.

What's in it for you
