Role Summary

This is a senior leadership role within Global Technology Engineering and Operations with accountability for the global network spanning onpremises, colocation, cloud, and thirdparty environments.

This leader is regarded as the authoritative expert for network infrastructure at T. Rowe Price and plays a critical role in shaping and executing multiyear platform strategy, while leading teams responsible for daytoday operations and transformation initiatives.

The role combines technical depth with enterprise leadership, owning the strategy, architecture, reliability, modernization, and operations of the firm's global network estate. This role ensures that the network platform is secure, resilient, scalable, costefficient, and aligned to the firm's longterm technology strategy.

Key Leadership Expectations

  • Recognized authority in network and connectivity infrastructure within the firm
  • Solves highly complex, ambiguous problems with broad enterprise impact
  • Defines and executes multiyear network platform strategy and roadmap aligned to Global Technology and cloudfirst objectives
  • Leads through other leaders; accountable for outcomes across multiple teams and disciplines
  • Influences senior technology and business leaders on investment, prioritization, and risk decisions

Responsibilities

Strategy, Architecture, and Transformation:

  • Owns and executes the global network and connectivity strategy, spanning LAN, WAN, wireless, voice, cloud networking, and thirdparty integrations
  • Contributes to targetstate architecture and drives modernization initiatives aligned to cloud, colocation, and data center exit strategies
  • Leads network platform transformation initiatives, including:
    • Cloud and hybridcloud networking
    • Automation and infrastructureascode where applicable
    • Simplification, standardization, and technical debt reduction
  • Partners with architecture, platform, SRE, security, and application leaders to ensure seamless integration of network services across the enterprise

Reliability, Availability, and Operational Excellence:

  • Accountable for network availability, performance, resilience, and recoverability globally
  • Oversees design and operation of solutions that prevent or minimize technology service disruptions
  • Establishes and monitors KPIs, reliability metrics, and service health indicators
  • Leads crossfunctional efforts to analyze incidents, identify root cause, and drive durable corrective actions
  • Ensures disaster recovery, redundancy, and resiliency strategies are designed, tested, and continuously improved

Automation, Efficiency, and Continuous Improvement:

  • Drives adoption of automation, tooling, and telemetry to reduce manual effort and increase reliability
  • Leverages data and metrics to guide decisions, prioritize investments, and improve operational outcomes
  • Champions modern operating practices and continuous improvement across Network Infrastructure Operations

Leadership, Talent, and Operating Model:

  • Leads an organization of managers, senior engineers, and technical specialists
  • Accountable for organizational design, capacity planning, and sustainability of the network function
  • Provides coaching, mentoring, and development for subordinate leaders and highpotential engineers
  • Responsible for recruiting, performance management, and succession planning

Vendor, Financial, and Stakeholder Management:

  • Owns strategic vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, performance management, and cost optimization
  • Manages budgets, vendor spend, and investment tradeoffs for the network portfolio
  • Represents the Network Infrastructure community in internal and external forums
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on network risk, investment, and roadmap decisions

  • Demonstrates exceptional understanding of:
    • Global Technology operating models
    • Financial services and asset management technology requirements
    • Enterprise risk, resiliency, and regulatory considerations
  • Expertly navigates internal stakeholders and crossfunctional dependencies

Qualifications

Required:

Experience & Leadership

  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in modernizing and operating in largescale enterprise network infrastructure
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, global technology initiatives with enterprise impact including data center migrations, cloud migration, infrastructure modernization, always-on infrastructure
  • Proven experience deploying / supporting cloud platforms at scale; AWS preferred.
  • Proven ability to define, communicate and execute multiyear platform and modernization strategies
  • Experience leading organization through significant change and overseeing
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams.

Technical Expertise

  • Deep expertise implementing and transforming LAN, WAN, MPLS, Metropolitan Ethernet, wireless, and voice networks within highly regulated financial services or trading environments preferred.
  • Proven experience designing and operating hybrid-cloud connectivity solutions across AWS and Azure including technologies such as direct connect and express route
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale network security modernization including zero trust enablement, network segmentation, colo and cloud security transformation
  • Established success implementing and scaling DevOps practices, tools, and frameworks. (i.e. IaC, CI/CD, Agile)
  • Proven experience operating networks across:
    • Corporate data centers
    • Colocation facilities
    • Cloud providers (AWS and/or Azure)
    • Distributed global office locations and thirdparty providers
  • Proven expertise across enterprise, cloud and data center networking technologies such as WAN/SD-WAN, network segmentation, zero trust architecture, wireless and remote access, DDoS mitigation, next-generation firewalls
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices in AWS
  • Experience integrating thirdparty and partner networks into corporate environments
  • Proven expertise implementing observability, telemetry and AI Ops capabilities within a larger enterprise environment

Preferred:

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology or Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Cisco CCIE / CISSP / AWS Security preferred
  • AWS Advanced Networking certification preferred

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.

Base Salary Ranges

$201,000.00 - $342,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers
$221,000.00 - $350,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$251,000.00 - $350,000.00 for the location of: New York, California

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual's relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
