Job Overview 
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Analyst to join our team and support our insurance platform and business transformation initiatives. This role is ideal for an early-career professional with a foundational understanding of insurance operations and a strong interest in business analysis. 
 
The role will work closely with business stakeholders and delivery teams to support requirements gathering, process analysis,
testing, and documentation efforts across key initiatives. 
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Requirements: Work with business stakeholders to elicit, document, and analyze business requirements for Guidewire implementations and enhancements. 
  • Business Process Analysis: Assist in analyzing current business processes and workflows, identifying opportunities for improvement, standardization, or automation. 
  • Customization & Configuration: Provide input into the configuration and customization of Guidewire PolicyCenter to meet business requirements. Collaborate with the technical team on designing solutions that minimize customization. 
  • Stakeholder Communication: Support communication between business and IT teams, ensuring alignment of requirements, timelines, and deliverables. 
  • Testing & Validation: Contribute to test planning, test case development, and execution. Support user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate solutions that meet business needs. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Provide ongoing support for post-implementation to ensure systems continue to meet business needs. Identify and recommend process improvements and system enhancements. 
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, use cases, user stories, and process flows. 

Qualifications and Experience

  • 0–2 years of experience in a Business Analyst, operations, or similar role (internships or co-op experience acceptable) 
  • Basic understanding of insurance processes such as underwriting, policy lifecycle, or claims  
  • Interest in learning about insurance systems and digital platforms 
  • Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) or project delivery lifecycle 
  • Foundational knowledge of business analysis concepts (requirements gathering, process mapping, user stories) 
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail 
  • Ability to break down business problems and communicate them clearly 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 
  • Familiarity with tools like JIRA or Confluence is a plus 
  • Tools: Experience in tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), JIRA, Confluence, and other business analysis or project management tools. 
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Internship or coursework in business analysis, information systems, or insurance-related fields 
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies 
  • Familiarity with data analysis or basic SQL 
  • Foundational awareness of emerging technologies (e.g., automation or AI)

Compensation and Benefits:
Base salary range for this position is $70,000–$80,000 plus eligibility for a performance-based annual bonus. Actual compensation will be based on experience, education, and geographic location.
