Location: Littleton, CO & Englewood, CO
Type of Role: Direct Hire (Full-Time, Onsite)
Shift: 9x80 Schedule (Every other Friday off)
Pay: $89,300-$157,550 POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an experienced Electromechanical Harness Engineer to support advanced space and defense programs within a high-security environment. This role is responsible for the design, development, and integration of cable and harness systems for spacecraft avionics. The ideal candidate has strong experience in harness design, electrical/mechanical integration, and cross-functional collaboration, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-visibility aerospace environment. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Design and develop cable and harness systems for spacecraft avionics and missile systems
• Support trade studies and provide technical data for design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR)
• Develop 3D concept models and advance designs for flight-ready hardware
• Coordinate with thermal, stress, dynamic, reliability, and EMC teams to ensure compliant designs
• Support manufacturing and test teams to resolve design and production issues
• Establish specifications for vendors, contract assemblers, and raw materials
• Interface with quality, supply chain, and parts engineering to ensure performance and compliance
• Develop and maintain system architecture and interface definitions across the program lifecycle
• Prepare technical drawings, documentation, and design artifacts for fabrication and assembly
• Participate in failure review boards (FRB), material review boards (MRB), and anomaly resolution MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering field
• Proven experience in electrical/mechanical engineering, specifically wire harness and cable design
• Experience translating requirements into harness/cable designs across multiple assembly levels
• Experience with CAD tools for design and modeling
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance Additional Qualifications
• Experience with cable manufacturing processes (connectors, crimping, soldering, forming, testing)
• Experience with RF cable design
• Familiarity with EPDM tools or equivalent systems
• Experience with CREO CAD modeling and Zuken tools
• Aerospace or missile system experience
• Experience working with subcontractors and external suppliers
• Knowledge of DFx principles (Design for Manufacturability, Affordability, etc.)
• Experience with tolerance stack-ups and requalification activities
• Strong communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience participating in design reviews and cross-functional engineering teams
