RK Logistics is a privately held, tech-forward logistics leader known for excellence and sustainable solutions to the semiconductor, life science, high-tech, aerospace, electronics, and automotive industries. 


We are currently seeking a Director of Business Development that leads sales growth for freight forwarding and logistics services by identifying new opportunities, building client relationships, and developing strategic business plans. RK’s leading compensation plan includes a salary range of $100,000 - $300,000+ (depending on experience), Medical and 401k benefits, and a generous commission plan with uncapped income potential in perpetuity. This role requires strong experience in freight forwarding, including knowledge of domestic and international transportation, customs compliance, and value-added logistics. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, detail-oriented sales professional with proven success managing client pipelines, negotiating rates, responding to RFQs and RFPs, and closing complex logistics opportunities. Strong communication, integrity, adaptability, organization, and time management are essential to succeed in this position. 

Requirements:

  Responsibilities and Duties:·

  • Own the complete sales cycle for freight forwarding and logistics solutions 
  • Prospect, sell, and close accounts 
  • Cultivate trust and long-term relationships with clients  
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans across International & Domestic Air, Sea, Ground transportation, Customs Compliance, and Value-Added Logistics solutions 
  • Build and expand a pipeline of high-value clients in all pertinent business sectors 
  • Structure competitive pricing and services for complex, high-value shippers 
  • Work closely with operations and senior management to support sales activities 
  • Market RK Logistics at trade shows, events, conferences or other creative venues that generate qualified leads
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Excellent consulting, selling, negotiation, and relationship-management skills
  • Deep working knowledge of International and Domestic Air Freight, Domestic Ground, FCL/LCL Sea Freight, Customs Compliance and Brokerage, and Value-Added Logistics services 
  • Demonstrated success negotiating rates, responding to RFQs and RFPs
  • Established client relationships and familiar with the network within the freight forwarding industry
