Job Description
Position Title: Data Center Construction Commissioning Manager
About the role
As Commissioning Manager you'll oversee the planning and execution of commissioning activities across data center projects in the Americas region. This role ensures all critical infrastructure systems are tested, validated, and delivered to meet design intent, operational readiness, and reliability standards. You'll drive technical quality, safety, and schedule performance while coordinating closely with cross-functional project teams and third-party commissioning agents.
What you'll do
  • Manage and execute commissioning activities across multiple concurrent data center projects throughout the Americas region.
  • Oversee all commissioning phases (Levels 1-5), ensuring systems are designed, installed, tested, and transitioned to operations per global standards.
  • Lead coordination between Design, Construction, Operations, and vendor teams to ensure timely and high-quality system delivery.
  • Review and approve commissioning documentation, including functional test procedures, scripts, and reports.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks or deficiencies, and implement mitigation actions.
  • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to site commissioning teams and vendors.
  • Drive lessons learned and continuous improvement across regional commissioning processes.
  • Support root cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives for post-turnover sites.

What you'll bring
  • 7+ years of experience managing commissioning activities for mission-critical facilities, preferably hyperscale data centers.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical infrastructure (UPS, switchgear, chillers, cooling systems, BMS/EPMS).
  • Demonstrated success managing third-party commissioning agents and large, cross-functional project teams.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel regionally as needed to support active project sites.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
