Position Summary


The Director of Project Management is responsible for leading the overall performance of the project management team, field operations, and shop personnel. This role ensures projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with company standards. Must have glass or glazing experience! The Director provides strategic oversight, mentors project managers, enhances internal processes, and supports cross-departmental coordination to drive operational efficiency and project excellence.


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all project managers, shop personnel, and field teams to ensure project milestones, budgets, and quality expectations are consistently met.

  • Verify that material submittals are accurate, compliant with plans and specifications, and aligned with applicable codes.

  • Ensure materials are procured correctly and on time according to project requirements and approved submittals.

  • Foster effective communication among all team members, promoting clarity and accountability across departments.

  • Review change orders for accuracy and completeness prior to approval.

  • Develop, update, and improve company processes, workflows, and project controls.

  • Provide training to project staff on company procedures, industry standards, documentation requirements, and quality expectations.

  • Coach, mentor, and hold project managers accountable for performance expectations and results.

  • Conduct annual performance evaluations for project managers, superintendents, and shop leadership.

  • Lead weekly project management “Traction” meetings and participate in quarterly and annual planning sessions.

  • Collaborate closely with estimating teams to help refine budgets, improve cost forecasting, and ensure alignment between estimating and project execution.

  • Review purchase order logs, change order logs, and other key project controls weekly; direct PMs to update documentation as needed.

  • Monitor project schedules each week, ensuring proper sequencing, progress tracking, and schedule adjustments where necessary.

  • Assign new projects to project managers upon award, aligning workloads with team capacity and skill sets.


Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in project management at a director level.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.

  • Demonstrated time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and sound judgment.

  • Proven leadership and supervisory capabilities with experience training and developing staff.

  • Ability to prioritize, delegate, and follow through effectively.

  • Ability to quickly learn and understand project-specific requirements.

  • Proficiency with Glazier Studio, Bluebeam, ESUB, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
