Job description

JOB SUMMARY
To be successful in this position at Cardinal Glass, a Production Technician must recognize that focus and unity are key principles of effective management. The role requires a commitment to maintaining order, equity, and initiative within the team.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works anywhere in the plant, as needed.
• Performs work as directed by supervision.
• Keeps the work area clean and organized.
• Moves glass from one rack to another to prepare for shipment.
• May spray powder between the panels of glass.
• Repeat the process until the rack is full.
• Secures the glass with binding, honeycomb strips and corner boards.
• Work elsewhere as directed by supervision.
• Reads and comprehends safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals, along with other similar documents.
• Requires the need to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Trims the excess vinyl off units from clave racks and placed on the inspection lines
• Produces a quality product in a timely manner.
• Wears all the required personal protective equipment for the specific job.
• Works as a Cardinal team member, not a specific department member.
• Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Required Skills/Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Prior production work in a manufacturing plant is preferred.
• Requires the ability to read a tape measure to 16ths.
• Requires standing all day.
• Poduction Technicians are expected to handle glass up to 50 pounds by themselves and any glass over 50 pounds requires at least two people working together.
• Positive safety attitude.
