The firm fosters a collaborative, growth-oriented environment centered on precision craft, safety, and top-tier client delivery.

 Role Overview

This is a core technical field and office estimating position focused on developing accurate, competitive, and high-quality material and labor cost estimates for glass projects. Working fully on-site in Columbia, TN, you will take ownership of blueprint analysis, material takeoffs, and vendor negotiations while working hand-in-hand with field installation crews to ensure optimal project delivery execution.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Takeoffs & Estimation: Review project blueprints, technical plans, architectural specifications, and site conditions to perform detailed material and labor cost calculations.
  • Bid & Proposal Preparation: Analyze diverse customer requests to prepare comprehensive, accurate, and competitive quotes, bid structures, and commercial proposals.
  • Procurement & Vendor Management: Coordinate directly with manufacturing suppliers and vendors to source competitive raw material pricing, verify lead times, and track material availability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal project scheduling and field installation teams to ensure accurate transition from estimated scope to actual site execution.
  • Data & Scope Management: Maintain organized digital estimating records, process change orders, track historical cost logs, and clarify technical project scopes with external stakeholders.

 Required Qualifications

  • Core Industry Experience: Minimum 5+ years of solid construction experience, with at least 5+ years of dedicated experience in construction estimating.
  • Analytical Precision: Strong numerical, mathematical, and spatial analysis skills to review dimensions, structural alignments, and complex material takeoffs.
  • Technical Software Literacy: Proficiency with basic digital applications including Excel spreadsheets, dedicated estimating/takeoff tools, CRM systems, and precise data entry.
  • Professional Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to clear project roadblocks with architects, builders, residential clients, and suppliers.
  • Field Mobility: Full capacity to operate on-site in Columbia, TN, including the ability to conduct occasional field visits for precise manual measurements and site assessments.

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Specific, deep hands-on knowledge of residential/commercial glass products, glass fabrication, or architectural glazing installation practices.
  • Background working directly as a glazer, field installer, or project coordinator within the glass and fenestration industry.
  • Relevant trade school education, technical drafting certifications, or construction management training.

 Additional Operational Details:

 Core Competencies

  • Technical: Elite attention to detail, blueprint fluency, structural tracking, and accurate data compilation.
  • Professional: Strong organizational skills with the proven ability to manage multiple overlapping bids, shifting customer specifications, and strict client deadlines simultaneously.

 Perks & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with commercial experience.
  • Standard corporate benefits package available upon hire.
  • Balanced exposure across custom high-end residential work and stable commercial construction pipelines.
  • Strong career stability within a highly reputable regional trade firm.
