Job description

Tree Specialists, a TCIA accredited tree care company serving MetroWest Boston since 1981, is seeking a safety-minded Climbing Arborist with solid experience working aloft—either in lifts or using rope systems—to execute structural pruning, installation of bracing systems, and removals. Ideal candidates bring a strong background in professional tree care practices, confidence with heights and aerial equipment, and a focus on safety.
Responsibilities: 

  • Climbing and Rigging: Perform climbing and rigging activities to ensure proper attachment and securing of loads for tree care operations. Collaborate closely with team members to ensure smooth communication during tasks.
  • Installation of Structural Bracing: Identify the best placement and configuration for both cable and rod bracing installations.
  • Inspection & Maintenance of equipment: Conduct daily inspections of equipment and components to ensure they are in good repair and functioning correctly. Identify and report any wear, tear, or potential mechanical failures to the crew leader and mechanic.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all ANSI Z-133 safety protocols and regulations during field operations.
  • Team Communication: Work collaboratively with all team members to ensure safe and efficient operations. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and the general public is also essential.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Can perform arboricultural maintenance and removal operations safely, and in accordance to ANSI Z133 & A300 standards
  • ISA or MCA certification, or willingness to obtain the credential
  • Has 1b 2a hoisting license or can work towards in first 6 months
  • 1-2 years tree climbing experience
