Job description

Purpose: The Rodman is an entry-level position whose role is to support the Party Chief and Instrument Man as needed.

Work Schedule: Nominal 10 hours per day, Monday through Saturday. Overtime may be required on short notice to meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Party Chief and Instrument Man with all field survey tasks as directed.
  • Perform manual fieldwork, including brush clearing, tree cutting, and pipeline probing.
  • Load and unload vehicles, boats, and off-road equipment.
  • Clean and maintain vehicles, boats, buggies, and survey equipment regularly.
  • Ensure all necessary supplies are stocked and ready for each job (e.g., flagging, nails, hammers, lumber, sweepers).
  • Clean and charge all electronic equipment (e.g., radios, GPS units) at the end of each workday.
  • Maintain clean and filled ice chests and water coolers for field use.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

Work Conditions:

  • Outdoor fieldwork in varying weather conditions.
  • Exposure to uneven terrain and remote locations
  • Early morning start times are common.
  • Able to perform all essential duties reliably.
