Positions are full-time and onsite (in-person) at our office in beautiful Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
What will you do?
As a TalkingParents DevOps Engineer, you will work with other DevOps, Software, and Quality Assurance engineers of the highest caliber to design, build, and maintain reliable, automated systems that support our mission. If you enjoy collaborating with teammates, ensuring every deployment and process is robust, diving into new technologies, and solving complex infrastructure challenges while having fun, this role is for you.
How you'll make an impact:
TalkingParents is looking for a motivated and talented DevOps Engineer who is excited by modern DevOps practices, enjoys automating infrastructure and deployments, and enjoys being part of a company culture that makes you feel like family.
Main Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows using Github Actions
• Automate Azure cloud infrastructure provisioning and management with Terraform/Bicep
• Manage and monitor Azure cloud infrastructure to ensure uptime, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of production Azure cloud systems
• Collaborate with developers to streamline Github Action deployments, resolve bottlenecks, and accelerate release cycles
• Implement and enforce security best practices across Azure cloud infrastructure and Github Actions
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents; participate in on-call rotations
• Contribute to mentoring teammates and promoting DevOps culture / best practices
• Partner with project management and stakeholders to monitor progress and ensure successful delivery of initiatives
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 3-5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering roles
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, Function Apps, VNets, Front Door, Azure SQL, Application Insights)
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI)
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, or similar)
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell and familiarity with OOP principles
- Understanding of event-driven and queue-based architectures (Azure Storage Queues, Service Bus, Event Grid, etc.)
- Solid grasp of networking, security, IAM, and load balancing concepts
- Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting using Azure Monitor and Application Insights
- Working knowledge of databases and SQL
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments
