Job description

Job Summary:
Pipe17 is an AI-native Enterprise Order Operations Platform that connects commerce businesses' selling channels, fulfillment providers, and back-office systems into one automated flow. They are seeking a Junior Tools Engineer who will design, build, and maintain internal tools, develop APIs, and leverage AI tooling to enhance developer productivity and system reliability.
Responsibilities:
• Design, build, and maintain internal tools and automation scripts using JavaScript / TypeScript.
• Develop lightweight APIs, CLI tools, and web utilities to enhance developer productivity and system reliability.
• Implement and manage API integrations between internal systems and external services (e.g., GitHub, Jira, HubSpot, NetSuite, or internal APIs).
• Experiment with and build AI-powered developer tools and automations using ChatGPT, Claude Code, and other LLM APIs.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and product engineering teams to streamline developer workflows, deployments, and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot system and integration issues, ensuring smooth operation across environments.
• Write clear documentation and onboard teammates to the tools you create.
• Participate in design reviews, daily stand-ups, and sprint planning with cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to unit and integration testing for tools and APIs.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 0–2 years of experience in software or system engineering.
• Fluency in JavaScript / TypeScript.
• Experience building tools or automation scripts for personal or team use.
• Experience integrating APIs (REST, GraphQL, or webhooks).
• Familiarity with AI developer tools such as ChatGPT, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Replit Ghostwriter.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS or similar).
• Curiosity about automation, integration, and AI-driven developer productivity.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred:
• Experience with SQL / NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) or serverless platforms.
• Exposure to scripting in Python or Bash.
• Understanding of cloud cost optimization and monitoring tools.
• Interest in e-commerce or logistics tech.
