Job description

Senior Manager - Global Sustainability Engagements & Partnerships (Americas)

Company:

The Boeing Company

The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Manager - Global Sustainability Engagements & Partnerships (Americas). The Senior Manager - Global Sustainability Engagements & Partnerships (Americas) will lead a regional team responsible for developing and executing collaborative sustainability partnerships with commercial airline customers, academic institutions, industry consortia, NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations), and government stakeholders across Canada, the United States, and Latin America.

This leader will shape sustainability offers to support sales campaigns, cultivate R&D and operational partnerships, and develop regional policy approaches in coordination with Government Operations (Federal and State/Local), Boeing Global, and Boeing business units (Commercial, Defense, Services). The ideal candidate combines strong aerospace sustainability domain knowledge (operational efficiency, sustainable aviation fuels, nonCO2 effects, carbon removals, emissions accounting) with proven partnership-building, program leadership, and stakeholder management skills across the Americas.

This position can be located in Arlington, VA; Chicago, IL; Hazelwood, MO; or Renton, WA.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and scale a crossfunctional regional team focused on customer engagements, partnerships, and policy strategy across Canada, the U.S., and Latin America

  • Develop and execute engagement strategies with commercial airline sustainability teams to support sales campaigns, trials, and longterm account sustainability roadmaps

  • Design and operationalize sustainability offers and value propositions (e.g., SAF adoption pathways, operational efficiency services, emissions measurement and reduction packages, carbon removals integration) to support capture and proposal efforts

  • Cultivate partnerships with academic institutions, research centers, industry consortia, fuel producers, utilities, NGOs, and crosssector partners to accelerate decarbonization and collaborative R&D

  • Lead regional policy strategy efforts related to sustainability - coordinating with Boeing Government Operations (Federal and State/Local), Boeing Global policy, and external stakeholders on topics such as SAF incentives, emissions accounting, nonCO2 mitigation, and market mechanisms

  • Act as Boeing's regional sustainability ambassador-aligning crossfunctional internal stakeholders (Commercial, Defense, Services, Boeing Global) and ensuring consistent customer and government messaging

  • Lead the strategy for SAF and Jet-A procurement for all US Boeing operations - partnering with Indirect Supply Chain as the business partner on procurement efforts

  • Oversee the strategy development and partnership efforts for carbon dioxide removals (CDR)

  • Translate technical sustainability concepts into commercial value and risk narratives for customers, sales teams, and executive leadership; contribute to proposals and executive briefings

  • Track and report outcomes: customer commitments to SAF/efficiency measures, partnership milestones, policy engagement progress, and contributions to the commercial pipeline

  • Represent Boeing at industry events, government forums, and customer executive meetings

  • Build industry consortia, NGOs, fuel suppliers, and/or government stakeholders

  • Navigate Federal and State/Local government engagement processes and regulatory landscapes in North America; familiarity with Latin American stakeholder strategy and issues

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • 5+ years of experience in environmental sustainability, business management, policy development or related field

  • Strong knowledge of sustainable aviation fuels, their production processes, and associated technologies

  • Broad understanding of technical affiliations, Government and non-government technical/aerospace advocacy initiatives and their ways of doing business in this environment (strong networking skills)

  • Experience managing and leading teams, as well as influencing within matrixed organizations

  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently across the Americas and occasionally globally

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Prior experience at an aerospace OEM, airline, energy/SAF supply chain company, or major aviation research consortium.

  • Familiarity with U.S. and Canadian policy frameworks and incentive mechanisms for SAF and emissions reductions (e.g., Sustainable Aviation Fuel tax credits, state programs) and regional policy dynamics in Latin America.

  • Experience supporting commercial pursuits or capture where sustainability differentiated the offer.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable engaging at executive and technical levels.

  • Multilingual capability (Spanish, Portuguese, French) is a plus.
