Responsibilities

Empower AI is looking for a highly experienced remote Senior Lead Software Developer to lead the architecture, design, development, and modernization of enterprise applications. This is a senior technical leadership role requiring an individual who can independently architect complex solutions, make technology decisions, and lead development efforts from concept through production.

The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in AWS cloud technologies, full-stack application development, modern software architecture, API design, containerization, DevSecOps, and AI-assisted software engineering. The individual will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable enterprise solutions.

Qualifications
  • Solution & Application Architecture
    • Independently design end-to-end enterprise application architectures.
    • Define technical architecture, system integration strategies, and application roadmaps.

    • Demonstrated ability to lead the technical design of complex, large-scale systems.
    • Strong expertise in AWS cloud-native application development.
    • Extensive experience with Node.js, Python, Java, JavaScript, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
    • Strong experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
    • Experience with Docker and container orchestration technologies.
    • Strong knowledge of DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and secure software development.
    • Experience mentoring development teams and leading technical initiatives.
    • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • AWS Solutions Architect or AWS Developer Certification.
    • Experience with Kubernetes (Amazon EKS or OpenShift).
    • Experience with GIS platforms such as ArcGIS or ESRI.
    • Experience with AI development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, Amazon Q, Claude).
