Job description

(This is an example job description written by Geo Resource Ltd; an official job description will be used by our client later in the process.)
About the Opportunity
Geo Resource Ltd is working with a lean, high-output exploration team entering an active period of targeting and drilling decisions. They're hiring a hands-on GIS + 3D Modelling Geologist to own day-to-day modelling and visual outputs used for internal technical decisions and external stakeholder updates.
This role suits someone who's comfortable operating at junior-company pace: responsive, practical, and able to turn messy data into clean, decision-ready maps, sections and 3D views.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Maintain and update GIS datasets and deliver clean map outputs
  • Build and update 3D geological models to support targeting and interpretation
  • Produce plans, sections/long sections, and 3D views to a high visual standard
  • Support drill targeting and drillhole planning workflows
  • Keep data organised and outputs consistent (templates, QA/QC, reproducible files)
  • Work closely with a small technical team and move quickly as priorities shift
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years in exploration geology / geological modelling / GIS / resource support
  • Strong GIS capability (ArcGIS and/or QGIS)
  • Strong 3D modelling capability (Micromine / Leapfrog / similar)
  • Evidence of high-quality visuals (clear sections, maps, 3D outputs)
  • Comfortable working remotely with a lean team and fast turnarounds
  • Strong English; Spanish/Portuguese a plus depending on team interfaces
Why This Is a Good Role
  • High impact: your work directly influences targets and drill decisions
  • Remote-first setup
  • Lean team, lots of ownership, minimal bureaucracy
  • Competitive compensation aligned with capability and output quality

Due to application volume, we may not respond to every applicant. If your background aligns closely with the key requirements (exploration GIS + 3D modelling outputs, targeting support, strong visuals), we'll reach out for a confidential discussion.
