Job description

We are seeking a GIS Analyst/Technician with 2+ years of professional experience to support our land development projects in Maitland, FL. The ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge of the Esri ArcGIS suite and foundational experience with AutoCAD. In this role, you will focus on spatial data creation, cartographic production, and migrating AutoCAD design data into our GIS environment to assist engineers and planners with site analysis and project mapping.
Key Responsibilities
  • Data Editing & Management: Create, digitize, and maintain spatial data layers (parcels, zoning, utilities) within enterprise geodatabases.
  • CAD-to-GIS Conversion: Import, georeference, and convert AutoCAD files (.dwg) into clean, structured GIS shapefiles or geodatabase feature classes.
  • Map Creation: Produce high-quality static and web-based maps using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online to support feasibility studies and project submittals.
  • Quality Control: Review data for spatial accuracy, ensure proper coordinate system alignments, and troubleshoot basic geometry issues.
  • Team Support: Assist civil engineers, project managers, and surveyors by extracting spatial data and running basic buffer and proximity analyses.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional, hands-on experience working with GIS data and mapping workflows.
  • Education: Degree or certificate in GIS, Geography, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field (relevant work experience can substitute).
  • ArcGIS Skills: Proficient with Esri ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online for data editing, querying, and cartography.
  • AutoCAD Skills: Basic to intermediate experience with AutoCAD (Civil 3D is a plus), specifically handling file imports/exports and coordinate alignments.
  • Technical Knowledge: Clear understanding of map scales, projections, datums, and basic spatial data formats.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience working with parcel data, tax maps, or land records.
  • Exposure to mobile data collection tools like ArcGIS Field Maps or Survey123.
  • Basic understanding of land development concepts like zoning, easements, and property boundaries.
