How much do gibbons jobs pay per year?

As of Sep 1, 2026, the average yearly pay for gibbons in the United States is $241,295.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $200,000.00 and $300,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is a gibbon?

Gibbons are small apes native to the forests of Southeast Asia. They are known for their long arms, which they use for brachiation—swinging from tree to tree—and their distinctive, loud vocalizations. Unlike great apes, gibbons are generally smaller, do not have tails, and live in monogamous family groups. They play an important role in their ecosystem by dispersing seeds and maintaining the health of tropical forests. Gibbons are also endangered due to habitat loss and hunting.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a gibbon?

Error: 'Gibbons' is not a recognized real-world professional occupation, so key skills and qualifications cannot be provided.

What are some common challenges faced by wildlife biologists specializing in gibbon conservation?

Wildlife biologists working with gibbons often encounter challenges such as conducting research in remote and dense forest habitats, which can make data collection physically demanding and logistically complex. Additionally, they may face difficulties in monitoring elusive gibbon populations due to their arboreal lifestyle and the need for specialized equipment. Collaboration with local communities and government agencies is crucial for implementing effective conservation strategies, but this can require strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity. The role often involves balancing fieldwork with data analysis and report writing, providing a diverse and rewarding work environment.
