Job description

Hacienda Surgery Center is looking for a full time GI Technician / OR Technician -full time.   

Hacienda Surgery Center is a fast-paced, multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families.  

What You Will Do (Job Summary)

This dual-role position requires an individual who is fully proficient in both gastrointestinal endoscopy procedures and operating room scrub duties. The ideal candidate must be able to independently support GI procedures, and scrub a variety of surgical specialties (ENT, orthopedics, eyes) while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, efficiency, and quality care.   Key duties are below:   

GI Technician Responsibilities

  • Prepare procedure rooms and equipment for GI cases including colonoscopies, EGDs, flexible sigmoidoscopies, and other endoscopic procedures.
  • Assist physicians and nursing staff during GI procedures.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot GI equipment and accessories.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate inventory of GI supplies and equipment.
  • Assist with patient positioning, transport, and room turnover.
  • Medical Scribe duties - charts patient’s encounters in real- time.  Accurately record and document all patient encounters including but not limited to; room time, procedure, procedure time, pathology, team members, and Time out.  Makes notes of examination findings.   Ensures medical record compliance by self-documentation attestation.

OR Scrub Technician Responsibilities

  • Function as the scrub technician for surgical procedures across multiple specialties.
  • Prepare sterile fields, instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical cases.
  • Maintain strict sterile technique throughout procedures.
  • Anticipate surgeon needs and efficiently pass instruments, sutures, and supplies during procedures.
  • Assist with room setup, turnover, and case preparation.
  • Participate in instrument counts according to facility policy.
  • Inspect, assemble, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.

Monday-Friday daytime work schedule

NO call required

NO Nights, NO Weekends, NO Holiday work hours

Required Skills

·        High School Diploma or GED

·        Endoscopy / GI experience required.

·       2+ years recent experience in Operating Room environment required 

·        Demonstrable proficiency in cleaning and reprocessing of flexible endoscopes

·        BLS, ACLS accredited by AHA
