Corporate Tax + Individual / Dual Status Tax + Accounting


We are a smaller independent and fast-growing Chicago-based CPA firm providing Accounting, Tax, and Advisory services to U.S. subsidiaries of German multinational companies across a variety of industries, as well as specialized services for expatriate individuals. To support our expanding international client base, we are seeking an experienced German-speaking Tax Accountant to join our International Team at our downtown Chicago office.


Position Overview

The primary focus of this role is on individual income tax return preparation, including extensive work with expatriate and dual-status tax returns. In addition, the role includes exposure to corporate tax for small to mid-sized U.S. subsidiaries of German multinational companies, bookkeeping and accounting for select clients. This position is ideal for a well-rounded professional who enjoys variety and international work.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare U.S. individual income tax returns, including dual-status and expatriate filings
  • Support preparation of corporate tax returns (1120, 1120-S, 1065) and related workpapers for U.S. subsidiaries
  • Perform bookkeeping and general accounting duties for select clients, including account reconciliations, transaction recording, and financial reporting


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5 to 7 years of experience
  • Experience with corporate tax
  • Experience with individual tax (including dual-status)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with CCH Axcess Tax preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Experience with QuickBooks required
  • German language skills
