To thrive as a Geriatric CNA, you need a solid understanding of elderly care, basic nursing procedures, and a current CNA certification. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, mobility aids, and vital sign monitoring equipment is typically required. Compassion, patience, and strong communication are vital soft skills for building rapport with elderly patients and supporting their emotional needs.
