Overview
TRC is seeking a highly motivated an experienced Geotechnical Engineer with our Geo-Environmental and Civil Engineering team. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual looking for career growth and experienced in geotechnical design and construction. Our engineering staff provide support for permitting, design, and construction of a wide variety of technically challenging projects primarily for industrial, utility, renewable energy, and solid waste management clients.

The candidate can be based in the Milwaukee, Madison, or Chicago office.
Responsibilities
  • Provide geotechnical guidance in the design and construction for a variety of developments.
  • Provide guidance for subsurface explorations and soil testing programs.
  • Develop geotechnical reports.
  • Develop permit documents and supporting engineering calculations for a variety of developments.
  • Prepare engineering drawings and specifications for construction projects.
  • Support in civil-site design projects supporting developers, facilities, and infrastructure comply with various state and federal regulations.
  • Assist clients in addressing their development challenges and goals by working with project teams to perform analyses and develop client focused solutions.
  • Apply quality assurance and quality control processes.
  • Have strong technical writing, data management, organizational and communication skills; and Develop proposals and perform business development.
  • Occasional travel throughout the US, primarily in the upper Midwest.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • 2-8 years engineering experience providing geotechnical guidance and similar tasks.
  • Experience with the development and implementation of plans, designs, and specifications.
  • Experience performing subsurface explorations, logging borings, and understanding of geotechnical laboratory testing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel software.
  • Valid driving license (with no major violations).
  • Ability to pass a background check and OSHA physical.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
In addition to the basic qualifications the qualifications below are highly desired but not required:
    • Advanced degree or training in Civil, Geological, or Geotechnical Engineering.
    • Experience with energy related projects, specifically renewable energy (wind, solar, etc.).
    • Experience with solid waste management projects and facilities.
    • Experience working with regulatory agencies and permitting construction projects.
    • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, including current annual refresher.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
