Step into Your New Role

Kleinfelder is currently seeking a Staff Geotechnical Professional to join our team in either:

  • Raleigh, North Carolina
  • Charlotte, North Carolina

The right candidate for this opportunity will be self-motivated and have 4-8 years of geotechnical engineering or geology experience.

In this position you will assist the Project Engineers/Project Managers and participate in execution of field investigation and potential

construction oversight. This position will also assist with review and compilation of geotechnical laboratory and field-testing results,

perform geotechnical analyses and report writing.

The responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to the following:

  • Assist the Project Engineers/Project Managers and participate in field assignments including boring layout and utility clearance,
  • coordination with drilling contractors, supervision of drilling and geotechnical field investigations, logging of borings and test pits.
  • Assist with lab testing assignment, compilation of lab and field testing results.
  • Perform geotechnical engineering analysis under supervision including soil/rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth
  • retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, settlement, ground improvement, and geologic hazard evaluation.
  • Assist the Project Engineers/Managers and prepare geotechnical reports.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, Including Word, Excel, and Power Point preferred
  • An ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, supervisors, clients, and subcontractors
  • This position will require 60% to 70% travel

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological, or Mining Engineering, or Geology.
  • MS Geotechnical Engineering/Geology is a plus
