Braun Intertec is seeking a highly motivated Senior Engineer to join our St. Cloud, MN office.
Responsibilities:
  • Independently prepare proposals for simple to complex projects.
  • Independently perform engineering analysis using standard formulas and computer software, create sketches, technical comparisons, and similar technical work in compliance with company and industry methodologies, for simple to moderate complex projects. Collaborate on highly complex projects with other senior and principal engineers.
  • Work within established procedures and/or protocols, while aware of risks associated with recommendations.
  • Review field reports documenting contractors work methods, test results, and the interpretation of these tests.
  • Act as the primary author of deliverables for projects.
  • Assist with field and lab activities when necessary.
  • Provide mentorship to junior level field and office team members.
  • Provide technical and peer review of project deliverables, proposals, and reports before submittal to Senior Engineer II for final review.
  • Act as a technical resource for one or more engineering specialties.
  • Oversee, train and/or teach Braun Intertec technical practices.
  • Coordinate project assignments with other engineers and technicians within the discipline group.
  • Direct project teams and projects with significant business impact.
  • Independently manage small to large sized, low to high complexity CMT projects.
  • Review drawings supplied by vendors, clients, engineers, and architects and recommend necessary changes.
  • Recognize and resolve construction/CMT problems.
  • Develops client relationships including attending professional organization events and identifying and following up with potential clients.
  • Understand and manage the need of clients through communications and proposal/project work.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of professional liability and business risks and able to communicate issues with client and BIC legal.
  • Consistently follow all safety policies and practices and communicates project safety requirements to all team members assigned to projects managed.
  • Be actively involved in industry and professional associations.
  • Present locally at industry association meetings.
  • Ability to manage and mitigate risk in consulting projects. Aware of engineering specialties outside area of expertise.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Braun Intertec contracting policies, including General Conditions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the local Standard of Care.
  • Possess knowledge and experience in geographic/geologic practice areas sufficient to serve as a technical resource and/or reviewer within those areas.
  • Possess technical aptitude to solve technical issues where solutions are undefined in typical practice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated fiscal management skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly utilizing Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to develop understanding of Braun Intertec services and able to market such to clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to qualify professional opinions and recommendations of less experienced engineers, applying engineering principles and practices.
  • Ability to delegate and develop direct reports.

Minimum Experience and Education:
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Geotechnical engineering, or closely related field. A Master of Science Degree is a plus.
Experience and/or Training: Minimum 8 years of direct experience in engineering or materials science related research or consulting services.
Licenses/Certificates: Current driver's license, PE license for 4+ years.
Technology/Equipment: Proficient with Microsoft applications
