Job description

Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is seeking a Geotechnical Field Professional in Alliance, OH.  As a Geotechnical Field Professional, you will provide higher-level task support to the Construction Observation and Testing (COT) group including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Observe and document construction activities to assure compliance with technical specifications
  • Prepare daily field reports and test summaries documenting the work being performed
  • Assist in the preparation of geotechnical reports
  • Perform routine calculations, including settlement, bearing capacity, lateral earth pressures, slope stability, etc. under the training of senior staff 
  • Provide a variety of other observation and testing services for geotechnical and environmental development projects as you support geologists, engineers, and scientists for a diverse client base in the private and public sectors

Requirements

You must own a reliable vehicle, have a good driving record, like working with people, and enjoy working outdoors. GTA will provide you with Personal Protective Equipment, which includes High Visibility Vest, Hard Hat, Gloves, and Safety Glasses.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study; EIT preferred
  • Valid Drivers License and your own reliable transportation are required
  • Enjoy Working Outdoors
  • Civil Engineering Degree 
  • Required: Possess one or more of the following current certifications
    • NICET
    • ACI
    • APNGA
    • NETTCP
    • ICC
    • FPO
