The Dudley, MA facility is home to Operations, Global Lens Engineering, and Research and Development teams that work together to develop, pilot and manufacture, semi-finished, polycarbonate lenses for premium markets. We also supply coatings, inks, inserts and other innovative products to customers throughout the world.

GENERAL FUNCTION

Provides strategic leadership, direction, and oversight for a 24/7 optical manufacturing operation, ensuring alignment with business objectives, operational excellence, and customer requirements

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads and directs all manufacturing operations, shaping the long-term strategy and capabilities needed to support business growth and evolving customer demands
  • Ensures production targets are met with a strong focus on safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Monitors and reports on key operational performance metrics, ensuring visibility to leadership and driving data-informed decision-making
  • Owns the financial performance of the manufacturing organization, including budgeting, cost optimization, and capital investment planning
  • Ensures complete compliance to ISO 13485, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
  • Champion for Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 6S and a High-Performance Work Team Culture
  • Leads and drives continuous improvement initiatives that drive step-change improvements in productivity, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction for the site
  • Drives adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies, automation, and digital tools to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability
  • Fosters a high-performance culture focused on safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and team member development
  • Partners with Human Resources to drive talent strategies, workforce planning, and employee relations initiatives
  • Ensures consistent application of company policies and standards across production operations
  • Direct contact with customers and suppliers, both internal and external, to foster improved quality and productivity
  • Partners with other stakeholders in the development of business goals and action plans that support EssilorLuxottica’s strategies and policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or equivalent
  • 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to support a 24/7 operation
  • Six Sigma/LEAN Manufacturing familiarity and experience
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated abilities to coach and develop people
  • Customer focused

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in medical device manufacturing
  • Master’s degree (MBA, Engineering, or equivalent)
  • Strong background in highly automated or advanced manufacturing technologies

Pay Range: 168,029.40  - 230,390.60 

This posting is for an existing vacancy within our business. Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
