Job description

Position Summary:

As a Sales Executive with Myriad Genetics, you'll represent both GeneSight and MyRisk throughout the Knoxville territory. In this role, you'll partner with healthcare providers across multiple specialties-including mental health and primary care-to help deliver personalized care through precision medicine. By educating providers on the clinical value of pharmacogenomic and hereditary cancer testing, you'll play an important role in improving patient outcomes while helping grow Myriad's presence across the territory.

Candidates must reside within the Knoxville territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a territory-specific business plan to meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with primary care physicians, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other mental health providers.
  • Deliver compelling clinical presentations and product education to drive adoption of both GeneSight and MyRisk.
  • Identify new business opportunities and grow existing accounts through consultative, value-based selling.
  • Attend local trade shows, industry conferences, and networking events to expand your territory and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Marketing, Customer Service, and other internal teams to provide an exceptional customer experience.
  • Maintain accurate customer and sales activity records using CRM tools.
  • Stay current on pharmacogenomics, hereditary cancer testing, precision medicine, industry trends, and the competitive landscape.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field preferred; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of two years of successful sales experience, preferably in molecular diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or healthcare.
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare environment, particularly in primary care and behavioral health.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a field-based sales role.
  • Must reside within Knoxville territory.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations, patient privacy requirements, and healthcare compliance.
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and values that align with Myriad's mission and code of conduct.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling patient and physician information.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience selling genetic or molecular diagnostic testing.
  • Familiarity with pharmacogenomics, hereditary cancer testing, or precision medicine.
  • Existing relationships with primary care or mental health providers within the territory are a plus.

Physical Requirements

Lifting Requirements - sedentary to light work or exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical Requirements - stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating, and observing. Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions. OSHA category III - normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid, or tissue and as part of the employment, will not be called upon to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid.
