Job description

Duties:
  • Records all pertinent data into PetPoint database
  • Assures the re-vaccination of all animals admitted to the facility as needed, and administer medications, either orally, nasally, or by injection, according to the prescribed guidelines
  • Assures that the Intake Desk is manned during all hous open to the public
  • Refers questions about non-routine circumstances to the Shelter Manager
  • Receives payments/donations for services rendered, according to a defined schedule, and balances the cash register to the computer record of transactions daily
  • Maintains a good working relationship with volunteers at the Shelter
  • Euthanizes animals is required
  • Assists other staff in holding animals being administered medication or euthanized, and aids in controlling and moving large or unruly animals
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Shelter Manager
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work well with staff, volunteers and customers, especially those surrendering pets for euthanizing
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of infection control procedures and safe handling of dogs and cats
  • Demonstrate a basic knowledge of animal health and behavior issues
  • Demonstrate ability to enter data into a PC database and retrieve periodic reports from same
