Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication are essential soft skills for identifying threats and collaborating across technical teams. These skills and qualifications are critical to protect advanced AI systems from evolving cyber threats and ensure secure deployment of generative AI technologies.

What is Generative AI Cybersecurity?

Generative AI Cybersecurity refers to the use of advanced artificial intelligence models, such as generative adversarial networks (GANs) and large language models, to enhance cybersecurity measures. These AI systems can identify vulnerabilities, simulate cyberattacks, generate realistic phishing attempts for training, and automate threat detection and response. The goal is to proactively strengthen defenses and adapt to evolving cyber threats by leveraging the creative and predictive capabilities of generative AI. This field is rapidly evolving as organizations seek to stay ahead of increasingly sophisticated cyber adversaries.

How does a Generative AI Cybersecurity professional typically collaborate with other teams in an organization?

A Generative AI Cybersecurity professional often works closely with data scientists, software engineers, and IT security teams to identify system vulnerabilities and design AI-driven defenses. Collaboration is essential when developing and deploying AI models that detect threats, as cross-team input ensures that solutions are both technically robust and aligned with organizational security policies. Regular meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions are common, helping to address emerging risks quickly and effectively. This collaborative environment not only strengthens security posture but also offers opportunities for learning and professional growth.

Can generative AI be used in cyber security?

Generative AI is increasingly used in cybersecurity roles to identify vulnerabilities, generate realistic attack simulations, and develop adaptive defense mechanisms. Cybersecurity professionals leverage tools like machine learning models to enhance threat detection and automate response strategies, often requiring knowledge of AI algorithms and security protocols.

Responsibilities include: Lead AI Strategy & Strategic Transformation: Serve as a SME and lead for dedicated AI workstreams and comprehensive "Work Transformation" projects. Tailored Delivery Support: Develop personalized coaching and support frameworks (e.g., AI champions programs, feedback loops) to guide employees through the transition from legacy processes to AI-augmented workflows

Impact Measurement Frameworks: Define KPIs specifically for AI-driven transformation, such as time-savings, process efficiency, or quality of output, to provide data-driven support for ongoing delivery efforts. Business transformation and Six Sigma experience are a plus. AI Expertise: Demonstrated experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), with direct expertise in Gemini Enterprise or similar platforms.

Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to architect service offerings and lead workstreams for complex, high-stakes projects. Strategic Communication & Enterprise Mindset: Proven track record of operating within an enterprise mindset to solve large-scale organizational challenges. Must possess exceptional executive presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and navigate the complexities of strategic global client environments.

Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, rapid growth environment. Analytical Rigor & Data Literacy: Proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel, with a "deep dive" mindset toward data. You must be comfortable navigating datasets, building reporting dashboards (e.g., Looker Studio), and utilizing data to drive decision-making and measure the success of change initiatives

Delivery Experience: Proven track record of managing end-to-end transformation lifecycles-from assessment and strategy to pilot implementation, feedback collection, and scaling support. Consulting experience desired. Change Support & Enablement: Demonstrated ability to create enablement materials (e.g., playbooks, training modules, or automated support bots) that help end-users adopt new technologies in a live work environment
