Job description

Dispensary General Manager

Location: Hastings, Minnesota

As the Dispensary General Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced cannabis retail location in Hastings, MN. You'll be responsible for keeping the store running smoothly, maintaining strong inventory and compliance standards, developing your team, and creating an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all daily dispensary operations with a focus on sales, service, compliance, and profitability
  • Maintain accurate inventory across Blaze/POS and state tracking systems
  • Investigate inventory variances promptly and document corrective action
  • Manage ordering, expirations, FIFO rotation, discounts, waste, and product movement
  • Build strong vendor relationships and identify opportunities for new products and smarter purchasing
  • Hire, onboard, train, coach, and develop store leaders and team members
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide timely coaching and accountability
  • Oversee daily cash controls, drawer and safe procedures, manager logs, and deposits
  • Build and maintain schedules that support business needs and labor goals
  • Ensure weekly payroll is accurate and submitted on time
  • Lead store meetings and leadership huddles focused on results, opportunities, and priorities
  • Maintain a strong culture of compliance, professionalism, teamwork, and guest service
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous General Manager, Store Manager, or comparable retail leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and operational controls
  • Comfortable working with POS systems, reporting tools, and inventory tracking systems
  • Strong leadership and people-development skills
  • Confident communicator who can lead meetings, coach performance, and address challenges quickly
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Cannabis retail experience preferred
  • Commitment to following all applicable Minnesota cannabis laws, regulations, and company policies
Weekly Rhythm

As the Dispensary General Manager, you'll keep the team organized and the operation moving throughout the week.

At the start of the week, you'll review expiration reports, waste documentation, inventory concerns, and any coaching or leadership follow-ups that need attention. You'll oversee scheduled inventory counts and ensure all information is entered accurately into the appropriate systems.

Midweek, you'll lead a leadership huddle to review store performance, discount reports, key metrics, product trends, operational opportunities, and immediate priorities. You'll also maintain vendor relationships and evaluate new product opportunities.

You'll ensure upcoming schedules are completed on time and that the store is properly staffed to support business needs.

Every day, you'll maintain accurate manager logs, oversee drawer and safe controls, update safe totals, and ensure ATM and change needs are addressed.

Payroll must be reviewed for accuracy and submitted by the established weekly deadline.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $65,000–$70,000 per year
