The Production Trainee Position

The Production Trainee is an entry level opportunity to learn hands-on production skills across every part of the shop floor with a clear path to grow into specialized roles. The trainee will be trained to provide general support across the shop floor, assisting machine operators and other production staff with material handling, basic quality checks, packaging, shipping and receiving, and housekeeping. The Production Trainee helps keep production running safely and efficiently by pitching in wherever needed across departments, making no two days the same!


Key Responsibilities:


  • Help load/unload machines and support operators with general tasks
  • Move, sort, and stage parts and materials between work areas
  • Perform basic quality checks (visual inspection, simple measurements)
  • Assist with bending, stamping, etching by handling parts and fixtures
  • Package, label, and prepare finished goods for shipment
  • Help receive, unload, and stage incoming materials and supplies
  • Pick, kit, and stage materials to meet production and shipping schedules
  • Complete basic production paperwork (travelers, checklists)
  • Keep machines, tools, and work areas clean and organized
  • Report quality or equipment issues to supervision
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper PPE use
  • Support cross-training and other shop floor tasks as assigned
  • Perform other duties as needed


Preferred Experience, Skills and Abilities for the Production Trainee

  • No manufacturing experience required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Forklift or other material handling equipment experience is a plus
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and prioritize appropriately in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Good organizational skills and a reliable, safety-first mindset
