Position Summary

The Production Associate is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely movement of materials, components, and finished goods within the plant to support production operations. This role ensures production lines are continuously supplied, inventory is managed accurately, and internal logistics are executed efficiently.

This role ensures production lines are continuously supplied, inventory is managed accurately, and internal logistics are executed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Material Transport & Delivery –
    • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move raw materials, WIP, and finished goods between storage areas, production lines, and shipping/receiving.
    • Deliver materials to production lines according to schedule and production requirements.
    • Return unused materials, containers, and racks to designated storage areas.
    • Assist with line-side inventory replenishment to minimize production downtime.
  2. Inventory & Material Management –
    • Conduct cycle counts and inventory checks of materials, WIP, and finished goods.
    • Verify materials received against packing lists, purchase orders, or production orders.
    • Report shortages, damaged goods, or discrepancies to the MP&L or production supervisor.
    • Maintain clean, organized, and labeled storage areas for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  3. Safety & Compliance –
    • Operate all material handling equipment in accordance with OSHA and plant safety regulations.
    • Maintain clear aisles, emergency exits, and material storage areas free of hazards.
    • Follow proper lifting, stacking, and securing procedures to prevent product damage or injury.
  4. General Support –
    • Assist with production tasks or housekeeping in the MP&L area as needed.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to material flow, inventory accuracy, and delivery efficiency. Collaborate with production, quality, and planning teams to ensure material availability aligns with production schedules.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in material handling, logistics, or warehouse operations preferred
  • Forklift Certification required; experience with multiple lift types preferred
Skill and Competencies
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions and prioritize deliveries to production lines.
  • Physical stamina for frequent lifting, bending, and walking.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
Work Environment
  • Industrial manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery.
  • May require use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
  • Rotating shifts and weekend work may be required.

Shift Flexibility Required:
Day, Afternoon, and Night Shifts - M-F, 8hrs
