Position Summary

Set up, adjust, and operate several machine tools, or operate and maintain setups on special and single purpose machines where operations may involve several progressive machining sequences.

Primary Duties

  • Perform production work as directed to assist Machine Operators set up and operate machines
  • Handle and transport raw materials, parts, supplies, tools, fixtures, dies and trucks
  • Work in all departments to load and unload trucks, count, weight, transport, and pile materials in storage areas
  • Position and handle materials to load and unload conveyors, racks, containers, etc for processing equipment
  • Deliver materials and parts to manufacturing departments as directed
  • Clean materials
  • Follow standardized methods of work

Work Environment

  • Continuous exposure to material handling equipment (forklifts), noise levels >80 db, and moving objects
  • Frequent exposure to temperature extremes
  • Occasional exposure to: humid/arid conditions, confined spaces, cramped quarters, vibrations, mechanical hazards, fumes, dust, mists, gases, allergens, and insect bites

Physical Demands

  • Must have the ability to speak and hear clearly
  • Must be able to see well including depth perception and the ability to distinguish between colors
  • Requires continuous or near continuous standing and balancing
  • Requires frequent (4 or more hours per day): walking, lifting, carrying (25-50 lbs), stooping, twisting, reaching (overhead and to the side)
  • Occasional sitting, pushing & pulling of heavy carts, climbing, kneeling, and twisting may be required
