Job description

The Vice President of Operations plays a critical leadership role within Structure Hospitality. This position oversees a portfolio of hotels and helps lead the organization through strong operational execution, financial discipline, owner relations, leadership development, and consistent follow-through.

The successful candidate will work directly with hotel owners, General Managers, department leaders, and corporate team members to improve performance, develop leaders, support hotel transitions and onboarding efforts, and execute company initiatives.

This role requires a proven multi-property hotel operator with a track record of improving results across multiple hotels. The ideal candidate understands how to evaluate hotel performance, identify issues early, create clear action plans, and drive accountability through consistent communication and execution.

This position also requires regular travel and direct involvement with hotel owners, General Managers, corporate team members, and property-level operations. Preference will be given to candidates located in the Salt Lake City Metropolitan Area, although qualified candidates throughout the Mountain West and Southwest United States will be considered.

Compensation includes an annual salary of $128,000 to $138,000, a quarterly performance bonus, health insurance benefits, 401(k) retirement, and paid time off.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee an assigned portfolio of hotels and drive operational and financial performance.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with hotel owners and serve as the primary operational contact.

  • Lead, develop, and hold General Managers and property leadership teams accountable.

  • Review and analyze financial statements, P&Ls, budgets, forecasts, labor reports, cash flow, and STR reports.

  • Establish consistent hotel health checks, performance reviews, and accountability processes across assigned hotels.

  • Create visibility into hotel performance through scorecards, action plans, reporting, and regular follow-up.

  • Identify performance gaps early and implement practical action plans to improve results.

  • Monitor revenue, profitability, labor, expenses, guest satisfaction, brand performance, and overall hotel health.

  • Conduct regular property visits, operational reviews, and follow-up meetings with hotel teams.

  • Partner with accounting, revenue management, and sales to improve financial and operational results.

  • Ensure company standards, brand standards, operating procedures, and action plans are executed consistently.

  • Lead hotel onboarding, transitions, renovations, and special projects.

  • Support recruiting, training, succession planning, and leadership development for hotel teams.

  • Help improve systems, processes, communication, and accountability across the organization.

  • Provide input on company priorities, operational needs, growth opportunities, and overall direction.

  • Drive follow-through, problem-solving, and execution across the portfolio.


Qualifications:Required
  • Proven multi-property hotel operations leadership experience.

  • Previous experience as a Regional Director of Operations, Vice President of Operations, Area Vice President, Area Manager, or comparable multi-property leadership role.

  • Demonstrated track record of improving hotel performance, profitability, guest satisfaction, and operational execution across multiple hotels.

  • Strong understanding of hotel financial statements, P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, labor management, cash flow, and financial analysis.

  • Strong knowledge of hotel accounting procedures, internal controls, financial reporting, and operational accountability.

  • Experience working directly with hotel owners and ownership groups.

  • Experience developing, coaching, and leading General Managers and hotel leadership teams.

  • Experience creating accountability, improving consistency, and driving execution across multiple properties.

  • Ability to use financial and operational data to identify issues, create action plans, and improve results.

  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the portfolio.

  • Experience within a third-party hotel management company.
