Role Title: Taproom General Manager
Pay: $75,000 - $100,000 Depending on Experience
Hours: Full Time (40+ hours/week including weekends & holidays)
Exempt Status: Exempt
Fort Point Beer Co. is seeking a multi-unit Taproom General Manager to join our team. In this role you will lead day-to-day operations of multiple taproom locations. Ideal candidates will bring passion and experience in the beer, food and beverage industries, as well as extensive team management experience. You will work with the retail director, senior culinary manager, bartenders, vendors, and various internal teams, to help create a healthy working environment, a consistently high level of guest experience, and a profitable business. You must have a passion for craft beer, food, hospitality, and service, as well as exceptional communication and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize projects and tasks effectively.
You will work on site across multiple locations throughout San Francisco including our taprooms on Valencia St., in the Ferry Building, the Presidio, as well as coordinating special events across locations and off-site as needed.
The work schedule will be five days per week, including weekends and most holidays. Scheduling flexibility is a requirement for this position.

Prior Experience
Successful applicants for this position will likely possess the following minimum experience:
  • 1+ year multi-unit management experience
  • 3+ years experience as G.M. or equivalent of taprooms, bars, restaurants, etc.
  • 5+ years in the beer, bar, or restaurant industry
  • Deep connection and understanding of the local San Francisco market

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with the retail director and senior culinary manager to implement change, systemize across locations, continually drive standards higher
  • Manage broad areas of responsibility including staffing, beverage ordering/receiving, daily/weekly accounting, repairs & maintenance, general supplies ordering, vendor management, taproom activation programming, staff education, various administrative duties, event planning, management and execution, etc.
  • Direct management of taproom team personnel: Including hiring, training, developing, discipline and termination
  • Scheduling staff across multiple locations including breaks and rest periods
  • Setting employee performance expectations
    • Demonstrate the highest level of integrity in how you interact with your coworkers, your direct reports, and the quality of our taprooms
  • Enforcing employee performance expectations
    • Identify and commend exemplary behavior in all members of the department, encouraging them to do the same
    • Where necessary, identify inappropriate behavior in department member and present corrective action
  • Develop and ensure operations are in compliance with SOPs
  • Maintain Safe Working Conditions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Maintain and promote a positive work environment with a focus on customer service
