General Managers are responsible for the overall operation of their unit. General Managers support and implement business objectives through a strong sales based focus and constant development of their team. Specifically, General Managers provide the strategy and delegate duties to ensure all business objectives and sales goals are met. General Managers are an exempt position.
Essential Job Functions:
โ€ข On a day to day basis, General Managers are responsible for the strategic development of the unit in the areas of sales, costs, quality and people basics. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
โ€ข Develop overall strategy for unit to meet business objectives, develop and promote employees and meet sales goals in all applicable sales avenues
โ€ข Maintains highest standard of customer service in unit
โ€ข Communicate and follow-up on unit objectives with all staff through to completion
โ€ข Maintain a sales based focus, proactively seeking out sales opportunities to establish and maintain business relationships where possible through phone calls, physical interactions and driving where necessary
โ€ข Maintain highest quality standards to ensure a safe working environment including maintaining HAACP, Board of Health protocols in everyday duties for all employees
โ€ข Develop assistant management to effectively manage sales, costs, quality and people basics
โ€ข Recruit and retain appropriately skilled staff to work in the restaurant and/or handle catering and banquet events
โ€ข Positively impact the unit through demonstrated creativity in developing and implementing strategic initiatives in the unit
โ€ข Appropriately schedule staff for forecasted sales
โ€ข Audit internal processes and adjust as needed to complete assigned operational goals
โ€ข Manage employee relations issues to ensure a harmonious work environment for all staff
โ€ข Support Director of Operations in effectively communicating issues, concerns, and special needs/projects and day to day business of the unit
โ€ข Fill in wherever necessary to move the line faster, assist in delivering product and serving food to customers
โ€ข Make deposits at the bank
Requirements:
General Managers will regularly stand, walk, talk, carry, bend, stoop, turn and lift in excess of thirty-five (35) pounds. General Managers will also drive, view a computer monitor and type/write on a regular basis. Team lift required on anything over twenty-five (25) pounds and/or an awkward lift.
