Job description

Greenfield Global is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead manufacturing, packaging, planning, and shipping operations at our Brookfield, Connecticut Life Sciences facility.

This is an opportunity for a hands-on operational leader who thrives in fast-paced manufacturing environments and is passionate about building high-performing teams, improving processes, and driving operational excellence.

Reporting to the Site General Manager, you will lead a team of approximately 40 employees while ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations that deliver exceptional service to customers around the world.

What You'll Do

As Operations Manager, you will:

  • Lead daily manufacturing, packaging, planning, scheduling, and shipping activities.
  • Develop, coach, and inspire a team of approximately 40 employees.
  • Foster a culture centered on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive operational performance through data, KPIs, and process optimization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and Customer Service teams.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA, and internal safety standards.
  • Oversee inventory management, production planning, and on-time customer delivery.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Support future growth initiatives and operational improvements across the site.
What You BringLeadership Experience
  • 5+ years of operations leadership experience in manufacturing, chemicals, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, industrial products, or related industries.
  • Proven success leading frontline and supervisory teams in a production environment.
  • Strong coaching, mentorship, and people-development capabilities.
Operational Excellence
  • Experience improving manufacturing performance through Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, inventory management, and operational metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize workflows and improve efficiency.
Safety & Compliance
  • Experience working in highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical handling, hazardous materials, OSHA, DOT, EPA, and related compliance requirements.
  • Commitment to creating and maintaining a culture where safety comes first.
Technical & Business Acumen
  • Comfortable using ERP systems and operational reporting tools.
  • Data-driven approach to decision making and performance management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with frontline employees, leadership teams, and cross-functional partners.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
