Branch Manager / General Manager

Location: San Francisco Bay Area


Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Branch Manager / General Manager to lead and grow a high-performing field service operation. This individual will have full responsibility for branch operations, financial performance, customer satisfaction, employee engagement, and business growth.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on business leader with strong P&L ownership, operational expertise, and experience leading teams within a field service, technical services, contracting, or project-based environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of branch operations with full P&L responsibility.
  • Drive revenue growth, profitability, gross margin improvement, and operational performance.
  • Develop and execute business strategies to achieve annual financial and operational objectives.
  • Oversee daily operations, service delivery, inspections, project execution, and customer support.
  • Improve labor productivity, scheduling, fleet utilization, inventory management, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, overhead, labor costs, and other key financial metrics.
  • Build, develop, coach, and retain high-performing operational leaders and field teams.
  • Create a culture focused on accountability, safety, teamwork, customer service, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with sales leadership to support business growth, customer retention, and strategic account development.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, contractors, engineers, and other business partners.
  • Identify operational challenges and implement strategies that deliver measurable business improvements.
  • Lead organizational change and drive continuous improvement initiatives.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive operational leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a significant P&L and financial performance.
  • Experience leading a branch, business unit, region, or large operational team.
  • Strong understanding of revenue, profitability, gross margin, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Experience managing multi-department operations within a field service or project-based business.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
  • Strong operational and business acumen with the ability to drive measurable results.
  • Experience improving operational efficiency, productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, communication, and change management skills.
