THE ROLE: FOOD MANUFACTURING PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR (LONG ISLAND CITY)

The Food Manufacturing Production Supervisor will oversee daily cookie dough production for all of Levain's east coast locations and ensures each and every one of our world-famous cookies is the absolute best quality possible. The Food Manufacturing Production Supervisor coaches and motivates team members to achieve production efficiency standards and quality. The ideal Food Manufacturing Production Supervisor candidate has high emotional intelligence and a knack for operating in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Job Responsibilities:

Leadership

• Supervise production staff to achieve quality, labor, and product standards
• Supervise staff on the execution of projects, product testing, or other non-standard activities as assigned by the Production Manager or General Manager
• Perform some light maintenance
• Supervise all sanitation activities to ensure all SSOP's are followed and documented

Communication & Collaboration

• Demonstrate excellent communication practices to create an environment of accountability and clarity around missions, projects, and deliverables
• Work collaboratively and support our Ecomm business as directed

Employee Safety

• Support the Employee Safety Program by ensuring that all personnel work in a safe manner
• Identify and take action to prevent unsafe practices or situations that could compromise employee safety

Food Safety & Quality Assurance

• Support the Food Safety Program by ensuring that all GMPs, allergen controls, sanitation, and Critical Control Points are followed by all personnel
• Complete all documentation required to verify that all elements of the Food Safety Program are followed
• Create, nurture, and support a spirit of high quality and food safety
• Support Quality and Customer Service teams in areas such as customer complaints, process validation, process risk analysis, and team training

Operational Excellence & Problem Solving

• Inspect, troubleshoot, or assess any production or equipment problems. Document and communicate any issues to the Production Manager or General Manager
• Collect and input production results in the MRP system. Resolve or account for all deviations. Accuracy and timeliness are of utmost importance

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years in professional food manufacturing operations, with at least 1-2 years of food manufacturing supervisory experience required
• Fluency in Spanish is required
• Knowledge of Food Safety regulations, laws, and best practicesrequired
• Experience in workplace safety programs and their applicationrequired
• Experience with maintenance and repair; mechanical aptituderequired
• HACCP certification and experience maintaining HACCP programstrongly preferred
• Experience working with (MRP) or manufacturing resource planning softwarepreferred
• Previous experience with GFSI, SQF and USDA audits preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Ability to lift/push 25-50 pounds, including overhead
• Stand/walk for a 10-hour shift (excluding a hour break); some locations require walking up and down stairs
• Ability to work, days, afternoons, evenings and weekends as dictated by seasonal or business needs

• $60k-$80k DOE + 15% quarterly bonus potential
