Job description

Looking to join a six-time US Best Managed Company? KENTยฎ Nutrition, a member of the KENT WORLDWIDE family of companies, is excited to offer an opportunity to join our team as a Machine Operator at our Mason, MI plant! Due to business growth and increased demand, we are expanding our team! Training will take place Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., with a transition to a later shift time once finalized. As a Machine Operator, you will perform routine tasks related to feed production, including quality control, ingredient and feed processing, manufacturing and loadout, ingredient receiving and storage, equipment maintenance, and housekeeping. We're looking for team members with a strong work ethic, a customer-focused mindset, and a desire to collaborate in a fast-paced production environment.
  • This position is designed and intended to be performed in Mason, MI

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Daily operation of equipment to process and manufacture feed products
  • Operate the bagger, sewing machine, forklift and all feed manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently
  • Follow warehouse and loading protocols
  • Ensure Kent Nutrition's quality assurance is met regarding ingredient receiving, load-out, and bagging
  • Record and document all feed manufactured during shift
  • Mix and prepare livestock feeds efficiently assuring accuracy and high quality
  • Assist management with production scheduling, inventory planning & control for both ingredients and finished products
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and repair as needed
  • Load and unload trucks in a safe and efficient manner
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Observe and enforce all company policies & procedures
  • Perform general work around the facility and other duties as assigned
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned by Plant Management

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1 plus years of manufacturing experience
  • Farming background a plus
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Good communication, verbal, written and math skills
  • Able to effectively communication with customers, co-workers and customers
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Thorough understanding of cGMP's
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements, HACCP Feed & Safety Plan, and FSMA
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 55 lbs. from floor to working height as job requires
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check
