What you'll do
  • You will install underground fiber optic telecommunications cabling related to a FTTH deployment project
  • You will use hand tools such as shovels, spades and other digging equipment to hand bury fiber cabling in customers yards to their homes
  • You will operate or work around equipment and machinery such as commercial grade air compressors and pneumatic boring equipment used to bore underneath sidewalks and driveways in order to deploy FTTH drops in residential neighborhoods
  • You will work in congested or remote areas, referring to provided maps to locate fiber network points of interest and utilize 811 locating markings to determine the best path through customers yards
  • You will maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
  • You will perform general construction work under direction of a Foreman/Supervisor
  • You will maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures and policies

What you'll need
  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You are authorized to work in the United States for this company
  • You have a valid standard driver's license with a minimum of 2 years driving experience
  • You have the experience with using a variety of tools.
  • You have the ability to communicate effectively.
  • You have the ability to work over-time, after hours, and on weekends
  • You are a high energy, focused and driven individual who can perform difficult manual labor tasks in adverse conditions
  • You are need to know how to cut over fiber and coax drops
  • You can stand, crouch, sit, bend, balance, climb, crawl, lift, hold, or stoop while on shift
  • You have experience working in adverse weather such as extreme heat, cold temperatures, wind, rain, snow, sleet, and dust
  • You have experience driving on wet or icy roads and in the fog
  • You are able to lift, climb, and carry weight of up to 80lbs

Physical abilities & exposures
  • Routinely: work alone in remote locations and confined spaces with arms above shoulder level. Operate vehicles and heavy machinery. Perform tasks requiring fine hand motion, bending, stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting greater than 55 pounds
  • Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard, and mouse
