This role supports the machine and sheet metal department by operating equipment, inspecting parts for quality, and performing general production tasks in a manufacturing environment. You will work with basic hand and power tools, verify measurements, and help ensure that all parts meet required specifications and standards.

• Operate machines in the machine and sheet metal department in a safe and efficient manner.
• Inspect parts coming off machines to verify quality, dimensions, and measurements.
• Use a tape measure accurately to confirm that parts meet specified tolerances.
• Work with basic hand and power tools as needed to complete production tasks.
• Follow production instructions, work orders, and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency.
• Assist with material handling, including lifting and moving parts up to 50 lbs.
• Report any defects, equipment issues, or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Support team members and contribute to meeting production goals and deadlines.
• Follow all safety guidelines and use required personal protective equipment while working on the production floor.

• Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to operate basic manufacturing machines in a production environment.
• Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
• Ability to inspect parts for quality and correct measurements.
• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly as needed.
• Basic proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

• Ability to read blueprints preferred.
• Experience using a variety of hand and power tools preferred.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Reliability and strong work ethic, including consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Willingness to learn new tasks and expand skills over time.

This position is based in a manufacturing facility within the machine and sheet metal department. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with some overtime as needed and occasional Saturday mornings that are not frequent. The role involves working around production machinery, using hand and power tools, and handling materials that may weigh up to 50 lbs. You will work on your feet for much of the shift in a production-floor setting that emphasizes safety, organization, and adherence to established procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vernon, AL.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
