Job description

Position Summary:

We are seeking dependable and hardworking General Laborers to join our cold storage produce warehouse team. This position is responsible for handling, grading, stacking, sorting, and packaging fresh produce while maintaining product quality, workplace safety, and cleanliness. Prior experience is preferred.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive, unload, move, and organize produce within the warehouse and cold storage areas.
  • Stack boxes, cases, pallets, and produce safely and efficiently.
  • Grade and sort produce according to size, quality, condition, and customer specifications.
  • Inspect products for damage, defects, spoilage, or other quality issues.
  • Package and repack produce according to established specifications.
  • Label, weigh, count, and prepare finished packages for shipment.
  • Build and wrap pallets for storage or transportation.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and sanitary work area.
  • Follow proper food-safety, sanitation, and workplace-safety procedures.
  • Operate basic warehouse equipment as trained and authorized.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
  • Perform other general warehouse duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous warehouse, produce, food-processing, or general labor experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated/cold-storage environment for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and boxes as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow instructions and meet production and quality standards.
  • Must follow all food-safety and workplace-safety requirements.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed primarily in a refrigerated/cold-storage produce warehouse.
  • Employees may be exposed to cold temperatures (50degrees), wet floors, produce debris, and repetitive physical activity.
  • Proper protective equipment and clothing must be worn as required.

Schedule

The position may require flexible scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, overtime, and/or holidays depending on production and shipping needs.

Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to safely perform physical tasks associated with warehouse operations, including lifting and moving produce, boxes, and packaging materials. Reasonable accommodations may be provided where applicable.
