With extensive in-house machining capabilities, LoneStar Fasteners manufacture bespoke fasteners in a variety of standard and exotic materials specific to customer drawings and specifications. We also offer in-house plating and coating services for corrosion prevention; including zinc electroplating and Fluoropolymer coating systems. Combined, LoneStar Fasteners hold over 300 years of expertise in sales, manufacturing and coating experience, covering all aspects of the manufacturing and distribution of fasteners for the Energy, Power, OEM, Military, Aerospace, Engineering and Construction Industries.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The CNC Machinist will needed to be able to setup and operate CNC Lathes and or Mill machines to perform production machining operations where sequences, set-up methods, material and tooling are specified by process drawings, work orders and other documents in order produce high quality components to our customer’s specifications.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety and Quality Assurance policies.
  • Report injuries, accidents, near misses or unsafe conditions to a Supervisor or Manager immediately.
  • Reads blueprint or job order for product and job specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, number of parts to be run, tooling instructions or other written specifications
  • Sets up machine, observes operation, and inspects first run and sample work pieces to ensure machining conforms to specifications; Determines processing specifications such as materials, location of cutting lines, dimensions, tolerances and operational sequences
  • Perform program editing (speed, feed tools, etc.) Fanuc 18i control, Okuma OSP and Mazak
  • Examines finished work pieces and verifies conformance to quality standards
  • May mark identification material before or after processing; store material for additional processing and/or shipping
  • Accurately completes work order paperwork/documentation
  • Performs routine and preventative machine maintenance and inspections as required
  • Assists other machine operators to set up machine, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished work pieces.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience and/or training on CNC setup and operation. 1 years’ experience preferred, but not required in basic programming, editing, setup and operation of CNC machines for precision parts with experience on Doosan, Okuma, Mazak or Swiss machines with Fanuc controls a plus;
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to pass a basic reading, math, measurement, parts matching and counting test
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Able to read, understand, interpret and follow detailed work instructions and manufacturing specifications
  • Ability to use multiple measurement tools (OD micrometers, Calipers, PD micrometers)
  • Ability to adjust to changes without compromising Quality or Performance
  • Must be able to work a shift schedule and overtime as needed, including weekends.
  • Attention to detail
WORK SCHEDULE
  • 2nd shift general work schedule 3:00 pm to 11:30 PM
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to stand for the duration of scheduled shift
  • Moderate physical effort handling parts. Equivalent to frequently exerting average effort. Ability to manually load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, platforms, saws, and trucks. Able to lift items weighing up 50 lbs repetitively.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus
  • Manual dexterity using hands, fingers, and arms to push, pull, reach, grab, hold, lift, and hammer
  • Continuous mental and visual attention in cleaning. Diversified duties requiring constant alertness or activity

  • Manufacturing environment with multi step process production runs on different machines. High value highly customized components and high precision manufacturing for critical service applications
