  Capital High School

Counseling Secretary 

The Counseling secretary oversees student records and transcripts found in PowerSchool. Helps schedule students with Counselors, oversee the career center area, help monitor the Bruin Food Pantry, assist counselors with their requests, and create the monthly parent newsletter.   

Some of what you will do: 

  • Respond to routine telephone inquiries regarding general high school policies and procedures.
  • Prepare materials for printing and distribution to students, parents and/or guardians, staff, and the school community.
  • Maintain accurate files and records.
  • Facilitate student registration and transcripts.
  • Oversee district elementary records.
  • Oversee and develop social media accounts associated with Capital High School.
  • Other duties as assigned 

Who we are looking for:   

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One year of experience and/or one year of secretarial training; or an equivalent combination of experience and training as determined by the District.  

Essential functions of the position include the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

Current entry level salary range is $19.43-$20.72 per hour depending on applicable relevant work experience as determined by the District and includes a comprehensive benefit package consisting of paid sick and vacation leave, 9 holidays, 3 personal days, up to 9 school calendar related days, health benefits, and retirement.
