We’re actively searching for an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team at Donaldson.

In this role, you will plan, lead, and successfully execute the timely completion of select Corporate-wide Facilities construction projects. This role will also be asked to handle the oversight and project governance related to new construction, leased space buildouts, as well as manufacturing facility or office renovations. The individual will lead cross-functional project teams consisting of both internal stakeholders and SME’s in addition to external contractors and 3rd party contributors. Proactive communication, interface, and engagement with Donaldson key vertical leaders will be required to ensure financial approval, project requirements, and timely-successful delivery. This key contribution and effort strategically enable capabilities within the Donaldson Real Estate portfolio. Qualified candidates must be able to work a hybrid schedule at our Bloomington office/facility.

Role Responsibilities
  • Project Manages the life cycle of construction projects from initiation through execution to successful go live.
  • Responsible for the key deliverables of requirements, fit planning, general contractor selection, construction drawings & permits, finishes and functionality.
  • Facilitates requirements and building specifications definition to define project scope and vision, as well as change orders and value engineering actions.
  • Gathers input and documents the Project Charter, resource plan, high level schedule and task detail for internal cross functional teams.
  • Leads and facilitates project team meetings with regular cadence producing efficient and effective results.
  • Manages the fit planning and preliminary layout design in conjunction with internal SME’s and external resources on both owned and leased building locations.
  • Contributes and compiles cost estimates for capital expenditure approvals.
  • Coordinates and supports EHS requirements including MOC process, Phase 1 site assessments and chemical handling recommendations in alignment with the EHS team.
  • Leads, schedules, and provides regular construction review and status meetings with vertical stakeholders, business unit leads, and global Facilities team.
  • Effective use of Project Management “tool‑set” and related project management software.
  • Travels to and completes project site assessments and milestone construction status.
  • Provides direction and guidance to General Contractor, sub-contractor and trades ensuring building construction quality, standards, and scope are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Leads value engineering and alternate material selection to maintain budget and construction timeline.
  • Point person providing direction on building/facility infrastructure and utility needs to ensure required capabilities for production, development, or office needs.
  • Travel: Up to 20-25%
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of experience in Project Management
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of building engineering and general understanding of applicable codes and building regulations.
  • Strong understanding of building systems and functionality; Heating, HVAC, MEP, Air Exchange.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong collaborator, communicator, and team player at all levels of the organization.
  • Mfg. or industrial building construction project management experience.
  • Cleanroom construction experience.
  • Life Science and/or medical device facilities operations experience.
  • Experienced user with SharePoint and MS Project scheduler or related Project Management software
  • PMP certified or senior program management leadership experience.
  • Experience in analytic storytelling and presentation, utilizing PowerPoint.
  • Domestic and international experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Annual Salary Range

Annual Salary Range: $92,400-$115,500. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to applicable work experience, training, education, performance.
