Position Overview

Reliance One, Inc. is hiring a Project Manager for one of our trusted clients in Birmingham, AL. This role is responsible for organizing, managing, and planning complex construction projects while overseeing schedules, budgets, subcontractors, compliance, and customer communication.


The ideal candidate will come from a General Contractor background with strong experience in civil construction, underground utilities, infrastructure, or related large-scale construction projects. This individual will lead multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring quality, safety, and customer satisfaction throughout all phases of construction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead field personnel and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and according to specifications.
  • Manage multiple construction projects simultaneously from planning through completion.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to develop project plans and schedules.
  • Oversee project budgets, forecasting, cost tracking, and financial performance.
  • Coordinate contract administration, change orders, RFIs, and project documentation.
  • Manage project risks, scheduling challenges, and issue resolution throughout project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the company, customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Present project updates, timelines, and progress reports to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with project teams, subcontractors, and customers.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and process efficiencies.
  • Perform additional duties and project support activities as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Science, or related field preferred. Equivalent industry experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience within a General Contractor environment required.
  • Strong background in civil construction, underground utilities, infrastructure, or heavy construction projects required.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, schedules, budgets, and construction documentation.
  • PMP, CCM, DBIA, CQM, ACI, or similar certifications preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
