Responsibilities:

1. Field Supervision

  • Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, with quality workmanship that conforms to the plans and specifications.
  • Oversee all jobsite related activities, equipment, materials, communication with internal staff, onsite employees, clients, subcontractors, vendors etc.
  • Ensure construction is per plans and specifications.
  • Understand the plans, specifications and scope by trade.
  • Identify jobsite issues/problems.

2. Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, subcontractors, vendors and employees.

3. Safety

  • Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices and rectify job site hazards immediately.
  • Ensure all company employees, subcontractors and vendors are adhering to safety policies and codes on the jobsite.
  • Rectify any non-compliant items from periodic safety inspections as soon as possible
  • Complete accident investigation reports for all safety incidents and report to Safety Manager immediately

4. Change Orders

  • Identify changes as they occur on each project and advise the Superintendent.

5. Reporting

  • Complete jobsite daily report including identifying subcontractor staff and equipment levels, subcontractors scheduled for future work, jobsite visitors, inspection activity, weather, general notes, etc.โ€ฆ
  • Document project issues, owner requests, etc. as they occur.
  • Take progress pictures of the job daily and upload.

6. Project Closeout

  • Develop punch lists and ensure all punch list items are completed in a timely manner.
  • Complete project closeout checklists and return/organize field inventory items to the shop.

7. Continuous Improvement

  • Continually review job responsibilities and projects to improve and/or streamline.
  • Make suggestions to management to improve procedures and implement as directed.


Computer Skills:

Successful candidate should be knowledgeable in Microsoft Windows and Office applications, specifically Outlook and Word. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Project is also a plus.


Work Characteristics:

Successful candidate must be flexible, very well organized, and work well in a team environment. Must be willing to travel, work nights and weekends, as necessary. Candidate must be professional and possess strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written. Candidate must also possess good time management, scheduling and problem-solving skills. Positive attitude and attention to details are also required.


Education/Requirements:

  • Three + years of construction superintendent experience.
  • Basic understanding of blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of general trades: carpentry, framing, drywall, etc.โ€ฆ
  • General knowledge of building and safety codes.
  • Must have valid driverโ€™s license and a vehicle with insurance.
