Teaching Associate Pool

POSITION

The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Teaching Associate Pool.

We welcome applications from current CSUF graduate students in the Chemistry & Biochemistry department to teach in any of the following subject areas:

  • CHEM 100L Survey of Chemistry Lab
  • CHEM 120A General Chemistry Lab
  • CHEM 120B General Chemistry Lab
  • CHEM 200 Chemistry Nursing Lab
  • CHEM 306A Organic Chemistry Lab

This is a pool of Teaching Associate for the department to draw on as necessary.

ASSIGNMENTS ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. APPLICANTS MAY BE OFFERED COURSE ASSIGNMENTS ON VERY SHORT NOTICE.

REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidates must be a currently enrolled graduate student in the Chemistry & Biochemistry department.
  • An advanced (i.e. BA) degree in chemistry or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students

COMPENSATION

All Teaching Associate appointments are made under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the United Auto Workers.  

Classification Range: $3,245 to $7,598 per month
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $5,200

The full-time monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the time base assigned.
