Join the Substitute Cafeteria Worker pool!
Substitutes provide support to the Food Services Department team on an as-needed basis when regular employees are absent.
Substitutes may serve in day-to-day, short-term, or long-term assignments, and locations include the High School, middle schools, and elementary schools.
Shifts vary in length between 3.5 and 6 hours per day.
Advanced scheduling often available.
Rate: $17.57 per hour for the 2026-2027 school year.
No experience necessary, but general knowledge of food and customer service, including the safe handling of perishable and non-perishable foods, is helpful.
This is a good opportunity to make your own casual work schedule, with daytime assignments.
ADDITIONAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
In order to be eligible for employment, the following clearances must be furnished and approved for hire at time of job offer:
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (Act 34)
  • FBI Federal Criminal History Record (Act 114)

The following additional trainings and forms are required upon hire:
  • Act 126 Child/Student Abuse Recognition and Reporting
  • Arrest or Conviction Form (PDE 6004) (Act 24)
  • School Personnel Health Record (Physical with TB Test)
  • Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Information (Act 168)
